Talk! Discussion board
30-45 minThis activity is a Four-in-a-row game based on the conversation cards from Talk! As the participates play the game, they discuss and reflect on their digital lives, including their use of social media and video games.
Preparation
Print out the board game in A3 format, double-sided. You will find the "About the game" and "How to play" sections on the back of the board.
Each pair or group needs one printed board game and a die.
Guided practice
Introduce the topic and learning objective for the lesson.
The pupils are able to
- discuss and reflect on their own digital everyday lives
Play
The pupils play in pairs or small groups. Encourage all the pupils to explain and elaborate their answers.
The questions aim to create interesting conversations and make the pupils reflect on their own media usage. There are no correct or incorrect answers.
Consolidation
After the pupils have used the the discussion board, place them in groups of four. Everyone in the group takes turns answering these questions:
- Which of these questions did you like the best, and why?
- Did anyone in your group offer different perspectives from yours?
